In September 2024, I had the privilege and pleasure of taking part in what was billed as the first ever Peter Maurin Conference.
Hosted by St Gregory’s Hall and St Francis Catholic Worker House in Chicago, the conference drew over 100 people to remember the life and work of the man who Dorothy Day herself always referred to as “the founder” of the Catholic Worker movement.
There are several reports available of the conference and I will list several references below.
Here, however, is the presentation that went with my own talk on “Peter Maurin, Le Sillon, Cardijn and the Young Christian Workers.”
